Google Nexus devices are known for their aggressive pricing despite impressive specifications, but the hype around them was never as good as the recently released Pixel and Pixel XL. The new handsets belong to premium categories unlike the Nexus, but they have been received very well in the market.

A study by analytics firm Appboy has found out in its analysis of over 100 million daily app devices from October 20 to 27 that the Google Pixel reached 0.016 percent of market share and the Pixel XL reached 0.020 percent one week after the release, according to 9to5Google website. It was much faster than the Nexus 6P, which took more than two weeks to reach the level.

The data found out that the Pixel saw 274 percent growth and the Pixel XL had 158 percent growth in one week's time, which is more than 104 percent more than the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6's 171 percent. However, Samsung's flagships did better in terms of adoption as their market share on the first day was higher than Google devices' in one week.

It may be mentioned that Google's Pixel and Pixel XL devices would have done better if they hadn't run out of stock on Google and Verizon stores.

The Google Pixel comes in two models -- 32GB model with a price tag of Rs. 57,000 ($649 / £599), and the 128GB model priced at Rs. 66,000 ($749 / £699). It sports a 5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (441 ppi pixel density), powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, and runs Android 7.1 Nougat operating system.
