Google is tight-lipped on its upcoming smartphone dubbed Nexus 5 (2015) aka Nexus 5, 2nd Generation, and it is expected to remain mum till the eleventh hour. But the device's key specifications have been leaked with its release date drawing close. The new device will have features much superior to the Nexus 6 if one is to go by reports.

The search giant is expected to launch two Nexus devices in October or November this year. Product Manager of Android Jamal Eason has also hinted the same by revealing on Android Developers Blogspot that Android M will be launched this fall. According to Android Police, LG will make the Nexus 5 (2015) under the codename "LG Bullhead" and Huawei will make Nexus 6 successor under the codename "Huawei Angler".

The Google Nexus 5 (2015) may not be the successor of the Nexus 6 but it is very likely to have much superior features, except screen size. The upcoming smartphone, which is dubbed as the successor of the Nexus 5 (2013), is expected to sport a 5.2-inch display compared to 6-inch screen seen in current flagship devices.

According to reports that have surfaced so far, the Nexus 5 (2015) is expected to sport a 5.2-inch Full HD touchscreen with 1440 x 2560 pixels, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, and runs on Google's latest software Android M. It is also expected to come packed with internal memory up to 64 GB, 3 GB RAM, 13 MP main camera, 2 MP front snapper, and a non-removable 2300 mAh battery.

A report by GizmoChina has claimed that Google's upcoming smartphone will come packed with 64 GB internal storage, 4 GB RAM, 3180 mAh non-removable battery, 13 MP main camera, and 4 MP front camera. It went on to claim that the device will come with features like fingerprint sensor, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2., and USB Type-C connector with QuickCharge 2.0.

However, it may be noted that leaked specifications of the Nexus 5 (2015) are not confirmed yet.

On the hand, the Nexus 6 sports a 5.96-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1440 x 2560 pixels (493 ppi pixel density), powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 clocking at 2.7 GHz, and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop (upgradable to 5.1 Lollipop). It also has 32/64 GB internal memory and 3 GB RAM, 13 MP main camera and 2 MP front snapper, and a non-removable Li-Po 3220 mAh battery under the hood.

Specifications and features to be seen in the upcoming Nexus 5 (2015) are not clear yet but it won't come as a surprise if it has significant upgrades over its predecessors. Even the Nexus 5 (2013) successor codenamed "LG Bullhead" and the Nexus 6 successor codenamed "Huawei Angler" could share same specification except the screen size.
