The Golden Globes 2017 nominations were announced on Monday, December 12, by Don Cheadle, Laura Dern, and Anna Kendrick through Facebook live. The Globes, awarded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, honour acting in film and TV in 25 categories: 14 for movies and 11 for TV.

The 2017 Golden Globe Awards ceremony will take place on January 8 at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. Jimmy Fallon will host the ceremony that will air live on NBC.

Lionsgate's musical La La Land has received nominations for seven categories including Best Motion Picture (Musical), Best Director, and Best Screenplay.

Dev Patel's Lion has got four nods, while Moonlight has got nominations for six categories. Surprisingly, Ryan Reynolds starrer Deadpool has bagged nominations in Best Motion Picture, Musical, or Comedy category. Amongst others, Hacksaw Ridge, Manchester by the Sea, Nocturnal Animals, Florence Foster Jenkins are high on hopes.

Among Television nominations, The People v. O.J.: American Crime Story leads the list with five nominations. Tom Hiddleston starrer The Night Manager, The Crown, and The Night Of has bagged the maximum number of nominations.

HBO's popular drama Game of Thrones earned the nod for two major categories: Best TV Series, Drama and Best Supporting Actress, TV while last year it could not take the award home (it was nominated for Best TV series, Drama).
