The 27th annual GLAAD Media Award took place at the Beverly Hilton hotel Saturday, April 2, and it honoured news, TV, music, comics and film media for their outstanding contributions to the LGBT community, especially through mainstream representation.

This year's GLAAD awards was special for three specific individuals, namely Lilly Wachowski, the creator of "Sense8" who made her first public appearance after she came out as transgender at GLAAD award; Demi Lovato, who was honoured with the 2016 Vanguard Award; and Caitlyn Jenner, whose reality series "I am Cait" won Outstanding Reality Program. E!'s "I am Cait" shared the award with TLC's "I am Jazz," which follows transgender girl Jazz Jennings who is dealing with typical teenage problems and her family.

GLAAD Media awards recognise all forms of art that fairly and inclusively address LGBT issues. This year, the event will be exclusively aired on Logo TV at 10 p.m. (EST) Monday, April 4, right after "RuPaul's Drag Race." You can also live stream it via Logo TV website.
