It's been a busy year for Girls' Generation member, Taeyeon. The singer worked on her band's new album, "Lion Heart", and went on to release her own solo album "I." It seems like Taeyeon's hard work paid off in the end. "I" topped several music charts in Korea and even featured collaborations with Verbal Jint.

While Taeyeon is perhaps dizzy from the success, netizens pointed out the similarities between "I" and an Indian rap song titled "Vaadi Pulla Vaadi" by indie music artists, Hip Hop Tamizha.

Allkpop quoted a netizen, who questioned if "I" is a plagiarised version, especially because the Indian song was released in August 2014, much before Taeyeon's solo song.

The netizen said: "It's a song by an Indian artist and it's the same from the beginning. It came out in August of 2014. Tamizha's 'Vaadi Pulla Vaadi'. Though the Indian lyrics make it confusing, you can hear that the background melody is exactly the same. This song came out long before [Taeyeon's "I"]."

However, Myah Marie, the co-composer quelled doubts by posting her response. She said that "I" was written in 2012. She further said that the guitar melody is "royalty free loop...available for any and all to use," reported Allkpop.

Meanwhile, Taeyeon found herself in the midst of dating rumours that linked her to BIGBANG member G-Dragon. A few days ago, fans speculated about their relationship on various messaging apps. Nevertheless, YG Entertainment and SM Entertainment denied the rumours.
