The mystery girl, who is seen smooching Kamal Haasan in the poster of "Cheekati Rajyam", is none other than Hyderabadi Madhu Shalini, who is said to be playing a crucial role in the movie.
"Cheekati Rajyam" is an action-thriller film, which is being shot simultaneously in Tamil as "Thoonga Vanam". The Rajesh directorial is being produced by Kamal Hassan under the banner Raajkamal Films International. On 25 May, the makers of the film released the first look, which featured a black-gown clad Madhu smooching the superstar.
The mystery girl in the poster of "Cheekati Rajyam" had generated lot of curiosity and speculation among the Telugu audience, until an insider revealed it.
"Madhu Shalini has been roped in for an important role in the film.According to the film's storyline, in one of the scenes, Kamal happens to bump into Madhu Shalini at a night club. She happens to be at a wrong place at a wrong time. Since the entire film's story unravels in one night, Madhu Shalini comes at a crucial juncture in the film. It's a very glamorous role," The Hyderabad Times quoted a source to the film unit as saying.
Madhu Shalini started her acting career with "Andarivaadu" in 2005. Having starred in six other Telugu films, she forayed into Tamil films with "Pazhaniappa Kalloori". She has also played important roles in Kannada film "Nagavalli" and Hindi movies "Department" and "Bhoot Returns". She has starred in around 19 movies in a career spanning 11 years.
The actress was last seen as a news reporter in blockbuster movie "Gopala Gopala" starring Power Star Pawan Kalyan and Victory Venkatesh in lead roles. She recently started shooting for Kamal Haasan's film "Cheekati Rajyam", which also features Trisha, Prakash Raj, Kishore and Manisha Koirala.
