A month after China's second biggest smartphone maker, Gionee, forayed into the lucrative Indian handset market with the launch of its mid-range Dream D1 phone, the company has launched a new low-cost touch-screen device called P1.

Gionee P1 sports a 3.5-inch HVGA TFT display and runs on Cortex A9 processor with 1GHz speed. It features 256MB RAM, 512MB internal memory with options of expanding memory up to 16GB.

The only drawback of this smartphone is that it runs on the outdated Android mobile OS v2.3 Gingerbread. Despite that, it features pretty descent specs for a phone with a low-price tag.

As an introductory offer, Gionee is offering a free 4GB microSD card, two phone cases and a protective screen shield with the P1 smartphone.
