An Indian online store has reportedly begun selling Gionee's flagship smartphone Elife E6, almost a week after its official launch in the subcontinent.

Chinese manufacturer Gionee had recently confirmed that the company would launch its brand new Elife E6 on 3 October at an event in Delhi. However, e-retailer Snapdeal went ahead to reveal the price and began selling the device as well. Snapdeal is offering the Gionee flagship handset (Black and White models) for ₹22,165 and said customers will receive the device within 10 business days after placing their orders.

Elife E6 was first unveiled in July and went up for sale in China later that month. Despite its plastic body, the smartphone garnered heaps of appreciation for its tough build quality and unibody design frame. Tech enthusiats also appreciated its OGS (One Glass Solution) screen technology and 5-element lens based camera, which one can see on Apple iPhones.

Another noteworthy aspect of the Gionee flagship phone is that it supports gesture control features. Elife E6 can detect the user's head movement and pause videos if he/she looks away, adjust volume controls just by sweeping one's hand up or down on the screen. The user can switch the alarm to snooze mode, just by flipping the phone. One can also answer calls by just holding the handset to the ear.

Elife E6 boasts of 5.0-inch screen with full HD (1920x1080p) Reality display having a staggering pixel density of 441 ppi (pixels per inch). Under the hood, Gionee has fit in a 1.5GHz ARM Cortex-A7 quad-core processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt memory. It flaunts a high-end 13.0-megapixel camera on the rear side with 5-element lenses, BSI sensors and flash support as well as night mode shooting options. On the front side, it features a 5.0-megapixel camera that comes with f2.4 aperture and 12 auto photo-editing tools.

With a price-tag of ₹22,165, the feature-rich Gionee phone may pose a threat to LG's popular smartphone Google Nexus 4, one of the top phones in the upper-midrange class (₹20,000-₹30,000).
