George St-Pierre looking all beefed up for UFC return, says McGregor will lose to Mayweather

Former three-time UFC welterweight champion George St-Pierre, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, is set to make his return to the octagon later this year. The Canadian MMA star had left the UFC in 2013 saying that he needed a break from the sport, but is now set to face UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping on his return.

No date has been set as to when St-Pierre and Bisping will square off, but UFC President Dana White confirmed that Bisping will be the first of four opponents GSP is set to face. Prior to rejoining UFC, St-Pierre said that he was really confident that he could defeat any of the current champions in the UFC.

If that's true then he should defeat Bisping when the two get inside the octagon, but a cause for concern among UFC fans is that St-Pierre is a much smaller fighter than Bisping. The Count stands at 6 feet 1 inch while his opponent is just 5 feet 10 inches, but that does not seem to be bothering the Canadian fighter.

"Of course, Michael Bisping will be bigger than me, but that will be the only advantage he will have. I believe technically, tactically, athletically, I got all the edge on him. It doesn't matter if he's taller or bigger than me. The only difference it's going to make is that when he hit the floor it's going to make a bigger boom," MMA Mania quoted St-Pierre as saying.

While Bisping's size advantage does not seem to bother GSP at all, he does need to add a lot more mass to physically challenge the UFC Middleweight Champion and that is exactly what he has done. Despite leaving the sport in 2013, St-Pierre did not let that affect his physical condition and in this video posted by him on his Instagram account, you can see just how beefed up he is.

Apart from beefing up for his fight against Bisping, GSP also gave his opinion on Conor McGregor's chances against Floyd Mayweather. After months and months of talking, it finally looks like the mega money boxing match is set to happen. GSP is not the first UFC star to give his opinion on this fight and he certainly won't be the last.

While a number of UFC fighters have at least said that McGregor might give Mayweather a run for his money when they face off, GSP seems pretty confident that he will lose.

"He's going to lose. I'm pretty sure he's going to lose if it happens. The odds are not in his favour. But I think if he manages to survive, it could be like a win for him because after he's going to start talking 'I stepped into your game, why don't you step into mine now? It depends on not only the result of how it's done. It all depends on how things play out," St-Pierre said.
