Several Bollywood stars have done Tamil films at the early stages of their career. Actors including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Sushmita Sen have starred in Tamil films, before going on to make it big in Bollywood.

This year, "Shuddh Desi Romance" actress Vaani Kapoor made her Tamil film debut with "Aaha Kalyanam", which is the official remake of Hindi film "Band Baajaa Baaraat". Apparently, some of the popular Bollywood stars now seem to be showing interest in signing up for Tamil films. Be it the lead role or just an item song, Bollywood actresses are now ready to be part of interesting projects in Kollywood.

From Bachchan to Sonakshi Sinha, check out the list of stars who will be part of the upcoming Tamil films.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

The former Miss World began her film career with the Maniratnam directorial "Iruvar", which hit the screens in 1997. She followed it with "Jeans", directed by Shankar, before shifting to Bollywood. Although Bachchan was busy with several Hindi projects, the gorgeous actress has occasionally starred in Tamil films, including "Kandukonden Kandu Konden", "Raavanan" and "Enthiran" (Robot). The Rajinikanth starrer was her last Tamil film, before she gave birth to daughter Aaradhya.

Bachchan, who was on a sabbatical post the birth of her daughter, is all set to make her comeback soon. The actress will mark her return with a Tamil-Telugu bilingual, to be directed by Maniratnam.

The film, touted as a spy thriller, will reportedly have Telugu actors Mahesh Babu and Nagarjuna in the lead roles. The shoot of the film is likely to go on floors in June.

Deepika Padukone

Bollywood's current sensation Deepika Padukone made her film debut with Kannada film "Aishwarya", before becoming popular through Hindi flick "Om Shanti Om".

Nearly after six years, Padukone is returning to South films. She is all set to make her Tamil film debut with Rajinikanth. The "Chennai Express" star plays the female lead opposite the superstar in his upcoming film "Kochadaiyaan". The film, deemed as India's first 3D photo capture, motion realistic project, is gearing up for release on 9 May.

Padukone has also been linked to another Tamil project. There has been buzz that the actress will be part of Vijay's new film with director Chimbu Devan. However, an official announcement regarding the project, cast and crew details is still awaited.

Sridevi

Noted actress Sridevi, who made her comeback with "English Vinglish", is all set to do a Tamil film, according to latest reports.

The talented actress will reportedly star in the Vijay-Chimbu Devan project, which is touted as a fantasy entertainer. The film will also have Kannada actor Sudeep, of "Naan Ee" ("Makki" fame). The Vijay starrer is expected to go on floors sometime in August.

Sonakshi Sinha

Sinha is all set to make her entry to the Tamil industry with a bang. The "Rowdy Rathore" actress will be seen sharing screen space with superstar Rajinikanth in "Lingaa".

The film, directed by KS Ravi Kumar, was launched on Friday (2 May). Rajinikanth will be seen in a dual role in the film, touted as a commercial entertainer. While Sinha is paired opposite one character, South star Anushka Shetty will be the female lead for the other role.

Chitrangada Singh

Actress Chitrangada Singh will do a special number in Suriya's "Anjaan". 

The "Desi Boyz" actress will do a sizzling number, titled "Siripu en specialty, Silk Smitha community". Music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the song, while Viveka has written the lyrics.

"Anjaan" is gearing up for release on 15 August.

Sunny Leone

"Raginig MMS-2" actress Sunny Leone will do an item song in Tamil film "Vadacurry", starring Jai. The song comes as a dream sequence in the film, directed by Saravana Rajan. The film's music is composed by two newcomers, Mervin Solomon and Vivek Siva.

Recently, the film's trailer and the first look poster of the Leone song were released. "Vadacurry" is expected to release this summer.
