Euro 2016 host France take on Cameroon in an international friendly match on Monday at the Stade de la Beaujoire in Nantes, France. Ahead of the European Championship, scheduled to start on June 10, Didier Deschamps' side will be keen on recording an emphatic result, in an attempt to enter the tournament as one of the favourites.

Les Blues will be without key defenders in their Euro 2016 campaign, but this also gives an opportunity for fringe players to perform at the big stage. Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane and Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu have been ruled out of the tournament owing to their respective thigh and calf injuries.

Lyon defender Samuel Umtiti could thus be set for his France senior national team debut on Monday. Deschamps, meanwhile, has announced that Liverpool defender Mamodou Sakho will not feature in his final 23-man squad for the Euro 2016, despite the UEFA announcing the end of the player's provisional ban last week.

The France midfield will be star-studded as the likes of Paul Pogba, Blaise Matuidi, N'Golo Kante and Yohan Cabaye, could all feature in the match. "There is a lot of competition for places, which is a good thing for the team. It is healthy and keeps everyone on their toes," Cabaye was quoted as saying by FourFourTwo, ahead of the match.

"We have 23 players fighting for their place who all have the same objective. We will need every player. You can never take anything for granted in life or in football. You always have to keep pushing forward. I have to show that I am still there."

Cameroon, meanwhile, will use the match as an opportunity to prepare ahead of their crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritania on June 3.
