Ahead of the first race of the Formula One season all teams would be eager to start with a bang, and Force India team would be no different in their objectives.

The team co-owned by Indian business tycoon, Vijay Mallya finished last season relatively well, as they managed an impressive 155 points, and were in the sixth position of the constructors' standings table.

This was the highest number of points that the team has managed in their history, since their F1 debut in 2008 where they could not even earn a single point.

But things have come a long way for Force India, as they have done a good job every season. It would not be surprising if Mallya would want to improve upon their last season's performance.

They have the drivers in the team, who can do it as well. Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg are the two drivers for Force India.

Hulkenberg and Perez were not expected to take the F1 by storm, but they performed decently as they managed 96 and 59 points respectively last season.

But due to some problems Force India's 2015 F1 car could only be on the track for two and half days during the pre season testing.

So, it is no surprise that the team is already behind other teams, who started their training sessions in the best possible manner and look ready for the first race of the season, Australian Grand Prix.

Not much is expected from the team in the initial phases of the season, but they are expected to turn good once the racers are comfortable with the car.

As of now, Force India may not be a confident unit but if they click later during the course of the season, they could come up with their best performance since making its debut.

Talking about the first race of the season, Sergio Perez told F1's official website, "The Australian Grand Prix is one of my favourite races because it's one of those events in which everything comes together: the excitement of a new season, a great track and a fantastic city."

"Albert Park is a special circuit and it's great to get back to action on such a challenging track. Even though it is classified as a street circuit, it doesn't really feel like one - there are only a few corners in which you get close to the walls. Driving on it, it feels like a permanent track, although if you make a mistake you realise pretty quickly how close the walls really are!"
