We are familiar with vending machines that dispense money, soft drinks, candies and more. Taking it to the next level, used car seller Autobahn Motors in Singapore is now offering luxury vehicles including Bentleys, Ferraris and Lamborghinis on the working principle of a vending machine.

The outfit has recently opened 15-storey showroom in Singapore that can accommodate up to 60 vehicles. Singapore is known for a very high cost of living and limited real estate space. Hence, a vertical approach in 'vending showroom' creation was required. Autobahn Motors showroom in Singapore has been billed as the world's largest luxury car vending machine reports Reuters.

Rather than a regular sales process that requires more time, customers on the ground floor can choose the car they wish to see from a touch-screen display. Autobahn Motors assures the car will arrive within one to two minutes using an advanced system that manages vehicle retrieval.

"We needed to meet our requirement of storing a lot of cars. At the same time, we wanted to be creative and innovative," said Gary Hong, general manager at Autobahn Motors. He also added that the vending machine format is aimed at making efficient use of space as well as standing out from the competition.

The vehicle on offer at Autobahn Motors also includes Maserati, Porsche, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, McLaren, Jaguar, Land Rover models and more. The range includes sports cars, convertible/targa models, luxury sedans and SUVs. Exotic classic cars also on offer including a 1955 Morgan Plus 4.

Carvana, a US company also uses vending machine-like towers to sell used cars. In March, it opened an eight-floor structure that holds up to 30 cars in San Antonio, Texas.
