PewDiePie (real name is Felix Kjellberg) tops the list of Forbes highest paid Youtube stars list of 2016, according to the Forbes report released on Monday.

PewDiePie has nearly 50 million subscribers and recently complained about YouTube's video recommendations procedure and its reported issues of not being notified on any kind of new release.

Achieving the title second year in a row, the Swedish gamer has recently declared that he will delete his YouTube channel once he hits the milestone of 50 million subscribers.

The 26-year-old YouTuber's pay check surged 20% from last year, when he made $12 million. Kjellberg launched his channel by making Let's Play videos, which showcase a gamer playing through a video game alongside footage of him narrating the video game as well.

According to Forbes, the rankings are based on data from Nielsen, IMDb and other sources, as well as on interviews with agents, managers, lawyers, other industry execs and the stars themselves.

Coming in at the No. 2 spot on this year's Forbes list was Roman Atwood, a prank specialist who has made $8 million for the 12-month period.

Lily Singh (Superwoman) ranked the third spot with $7.5 million, who starred in a film about her worldwide tour, A Trip to Unicorn Island.
