Apple's official e-commerce partner Flipkart is expected to commence iPhone 7 series' pre-order service on September 29 night, ahead of the device's release next month.

The iPhone 7 pre-order service kicks off at 11:59 pm on Thursday on Flipkart's dedicated webpage. However, it is yet to be ascertained whether the e-commerce site will charge full amount or a nominal advance payment on the day, as the shipment of the devices is expected to commence in the first week of October.

Apple's 4.7-inch iPhone 7 and 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus prices start from Rs. 60,000 and Rs. 72,000, respectively in the country.

Ahead of the iPhone 7 series launch, Apple has slashed Rs 22,000 on high-end 128GB models of iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. The 4.0-inch iPhone SE (64GB) model price has also been reduced from Rs 49,000 to Rs. 44,000.

Besides Flipkart, Apple's authorised brick-and-mortar retailers -- iWorld and Unicorn -- have started taking orders for iPhone 7 series in select cities in India. Some franchises are also charging a Rs 5000 advance payment.
