India is proving to be a crucial market for smartphone makers as they bring their latest releases sooner than before. Major brands like Apple, Samsung and others are focusing largely on India and now HTC is making its move to show that it's part of the big race.

As Samsung Galaxy S8 and Apple iPhone 7 series dominate the flagship race in India and OnePlus is making its way to the arena, HTC accidentally dropped a hint that its 2017 flagship U11 smartphone is also coming soon to India.

HTC U11 is listed on the company's official e-store in India, but the pricing and availability still remain a mystery. But the phone's appearance on the company's official site is a clear sign that the handset is coming to the country sooner than we anticipated.

In a separate leak by Twitter user LlabTooFer, who is a noted HTC ROM developer and tipster, India was listed among eight other countries where the HTC U11 will be available soon. But the main highlight of the tweet was that it will be available with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration, which makes sense considering tough competition from rivals like Samsung Galaxy S8 and upcoming OnePlus 5.

HTC originally launched the U11 smartphone in Taiwan last month and it is available for pre-orders in the U.S. for $749 (around Rs. 48,000) and in Europe for €749 (approx. Rs. 53,000). For those unaware, the HTC U11 is quite an impressive device and nothing short of its flagship rivals.

The phone's biggest highlights include the Edge Sense feature, which the company claims is a "new age of phone interactions." The phone is beautifully crafted with 3D liquid glass surface, and has a water resistant unibody.

HTC U11 features a 5.5-inch 2K Super LCD display with Gorilla Glass 5, a 12MP rear camera with ultra-spread AF, BSI sensor, OIS, f/1.7 aperture and dual-LED flash. It has slow-motion and 4K video recording as well. The phone's camera mimics DSLR-like features with its manual mode, which allows 32-second long exposure and RAW format support.

Under the hood, HTC U11 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4GB/6GB RAM options, and 64GB/128GB storage variants. It packs a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support and has dual AI assistants – Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa – in specific regions.
