Visakhapatnam, Oct 26 (ANI): The fishermen community in port city of Visakhapatnam seems to be worst affected by cyclone Hudhud as they have not been able to return to work after their fishing boats and other equipments were either lost or damaged. Cyclone Hudhud slammed into the coast of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha on October 12, tearing down tens of thousands of mud-and-thatch homes, and flattening rice, banana and sugarcane plantations. Meanwhile, a fisherman, Danayya, said that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is himself supervising the rehabilitation work. However, another fisherman, Aslam Khan, said the help offered by the government is not enough. On an average, 350 tonnes of fish is provided by the Visakhapatnam fishing harbour per day, of which nearly half is sold in Visakhapatnam itself. The remaining stock is exported to Tamil Nadu and Kerala where the fish varieties of Visakhapatnam are very popular.
