The first song of "Manglish" featuring Mammootty and Caroline Bech is released. The song, which starts with the lines "Ulla Ulla Ulla" is composed by Gopi Sunder.

"Ulla Ulla Ulla" song is penned by Santhosh Varma and is sung by Ameena and Gopi Sunder.

"I have given a fun Qawwali mood to the song and Santhosh Varma has done a great job by  beautifully describing the lady who had crossed seas to reach Kochi. I am sure people are going to love this song. Music and lyrics have an earthy feel to it," said Gopi Sunder to International Business Times, Indian Edition.

The song describes Michelle (played by Caroline Bech) who had crossed seas to reach Kochi where her destiny is. The visuals of the song briefs her stay in Kochi and how she get accustomed to Malik Bhai's (played by Mammootty) life and surroundings. Michelle has mingled well with Bhai's family too. Meanwhile, Bhai is in the process of learning English to know more about Michelle and her life.

"Manglish" team had earlier released the promo song of the film, which was sung by Mammootty's son and actor Dulquer Salmaan. The song, which begins with the lines "Njanga Ponenatta" is a fast peppy number and is composed by Gopi. The song is sung in the Kochi – Mattanchery slang and the lyrics are also written by Santhosh. This is Dulquer's second outing as a singer after "Johny Mone Johny" from the film "ABCD," which was also composed by Gopi.

"Dulquer is one of those artists who give 100 percent satisfaction in his work. His commitment cannot be paralleled to anything. After 'Johny Mone Johny,' I made sure I don't use him much. His songs are definitely successful ones, so I knew if am going to make him sing again, it has to be a much bigger song. It was director Salam Bappu's idea to get him to sing the promo song for the film. Dulquer gave the best result and nothing can get bigger than Dulquer singing for his father's film," added the composer.

Bhai is a wholesale fish dealer at the Cochin Harbour. It is said that no business in Kochi happens without his consent, and is everybody's favourite.

Michelle is in India for a purpose and she seeks Bhai's help to reach her goal. Communication becomes a hurdle between them as they both do not have a common language.

"Manglish" is a comedy entertainer that revolves around Bhai and Michelle's confusion in communicating with each other.

The Mammootty starrer is all set for its Eid release on 27 July and is produced by Haneef Mohammed under the banner of Red Rose Creations. The story, screen play and dialogues are done by Riyas and Pradheesh Varma will wield the camera for the film. The music is composed by Gopi Sunder and the lyrics are penned by Hari Narayanan and Santhosh Varma.
