Uruguay and Italy will meet for the third place in the FIFA Confederation Cup 2013. The match will be played at Arena Fonte Nova, Salvador on Sunday.

Overview:

Uruguay are placed in the second position of Group B with six points after winning two matches and losing one. They lost to Spain in the first match but went on to win against Nigeria and Tahiti to book a berth in the semi-final. However, they lost to Group A winners Brazil by 1-2 in the semi final.

Italy, the runner-up of Group A, won two matches and losing one, earning six points. They beat Mexico and Japan before losing to Brazil. They lost to Spain 6-7 in a penalty shoot-outs in the semi-final.

Previous Meetings:

Uruguay have 2-2 win-loss and four draws record against Italy in their last eight meetings. However, Uruguay beat Italy 1-0 in the last meeting in November 2011.

Team News:

Uruguay: With no major injury concern, they are expected to filed a strong side. They are expected to field Diego Forlan, Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez in the attack for the third place on Sunday.

Italy: Some of the big names in the team will miss out due to injuries. Andrea Pirlo and Andrea Barzagli have been ruled out for the match against Uruguay due to injuries. Mario Balotelli and Ignazio Abate are both sidelined
