The launch of Fiat Punto's much-powerful version has almost been confirmed with the first ever spy shots of the model with 135bhp emerged online.
The auto lovers in India have heard about the powerful Fiat Evo under the Abarth nameplate before too. Now with the latest spy shots from the Team Fiat Moto Club it looks like the model is under consideration for the Indian market.
Purportedly called Punto Abarth, the latest version of Punto hatchback is seen with 1.4-litre T-JET turbocharged petrol engine that can churn out 135PS power at 6,000rpm and 206Nm torque at 1,750rpm. The engine will be coming mated to a 5-speed gearbox and is likely to clock 0-100kmph in eight seconds.
Expected to be launched around the festive season this year, new Punto Evo will be priced in the ₹10 lakh brackets.
The current Punto Evo that is being sold in the market Punto Evo, comes with a choice of three engines in a total of four states of tune. While the entry-level Fiat Evo gets power from 1.2-litre, 4 cylinder petrol motor, the next model in the petrol Evo line-up draws power from a 1.4 litre, 4 cylinder petrol motor.
The 1.3 litre, 4 cylinder MultiJet diesel gets two different states of tune. In Active, Dynamic and Emotion models, the diesel engine churns out a 76PS power and 197Nm torque and in the top model, the same diesel machine pumps out 92.72PS power and 209Nm torque.
