Italian automobile manufacturer Fiat has begun testing its upcoming Avventura Urban Cross on Indian roads. This is the first time that the Avventura Urban Cross has been spied undergoing tests, indicating that the model could come to the market any time soon.

Caught on camera by IndianAutos Blog, the latest images of the Avventura Urban Cross is rumoured to hit the Indian market as early as September. From the images, the prototype of the Avventura Urban Cross is seen in its disguised form.

The Avventura Urban Cross was part of Fiat's pavilion at the Auto Expo 2016 along with Punto Pure and Linea 125S. Fiat has already launched the other two vehicles in the Indian market. The Urban Cross, a re-worked version of the Avventura crossover, loses its tailgate-mounted spare wheel in the new avatar. It measures 3,989mm in length, 1,706mm in width and 1,542mm in height.

The model also accommodates changes on the exterior and interior styling including new grille, re-worked front and rear bumpers and silver cladding. Other features include side mouldings, roof rack with LED lighting and 17-inch alloys.

Inside the cabin, the Urban Cross features a 5-inch touchscreen display with audio navigation and dual-tone dash board. The Avventura Urban Cross is expected to cost higher than the Avventura.

At the heart of the Avventura Urban Cross is a 1.4Tjet petrol engine that is tuned to belt out 140bhp of power and 210Nm of torque. This engine will come mated to a five speed manual transmission.
