Tamil superstar Vijay's much awaited film "Puli", which was released last week, has failed to impress critics and audience alike. A video, taken at a theatre in Chennai, shows the movie-goers' reaction as they leave the cinema hall disappointed even as the show continues.

Some fans got so upset by the Vijay-starrer that they even destroyed the seats of the cinema hall -- Chennai's Vijaya theatre.

'Puli' Kerala Box Office Collection

"Vijay fans got angry & walked out in 1st half - Vijaya Theatre," reads the description of the video, which has been uploaded on Facebook page of Kokki Kumaru.

The video has gone viral on the social networking site and has been viewed by more than 4.2 lakh users within four days.

While some claimed that the audience left the theatre as the film disappointed them, few people also said that the incident took place due to the bad audio system in the cinema hall.

Made simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu, the release of "Puli" was delayed due to some financial issues. Also, the income tax (IT) department's surprise raids at the houses and offices of actors Vijay, Nayanthara and Samantha Ruth Prabhu on Wednesday and Thursday affected the film's performance at the box office.

However, despite garnering mixed responses, the film has reportedly beaten the first weekend box office collection of SS Rajamouli's magnum opus "Baahubali - The Beginning" as it had more shows.

With 465 shows, "Puli" collected Rs 2.84 crore alone at the Chennai box office in comparison to "Baahubali" which had earned Rs 1.66 crore from 363 shows.
