After the failure of multi-lingual flick "Kadal", popular South Indian filmmaker Mani Ratnam is all set to make a comeback with his next film featuring young Malayalam actor Fahad Fazil and Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu.

Sources from the industry claim that Ratnam has approached Fazil, the new generation actor of Mollywood, to be a part of his next film that will be simultaneously made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions.  Details of Fazil's role are yet to be confirmed. The makers are expected to make an official announcement about his casting soon.

Fazil had won several awards for his on-screen performances. He was also featured in several critically acclaimed films.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that Telugu star Mahesh Babu, who is basking in the success of "Nenokkadine", will act alongside Nagarjuna in the forthcoming mega-budget project. Ratnam is currently said to be in talks with the actors for his multi-lingual venture, which is expected to be a full-on action entertainer.

Earlier, Babu and Ratnam were in talks for the film adaption of "Ponniyin Selvan", a period drama. The actor had earlier stated that his dream to work with the director was finally becoming a reality, but the project was put on hold for quite some time and no further comments were made.

Meanwhile, Ratnam's upcoming project is expected to go on floors in a couple of months. Fazil is currently busy shooting for "Cartoon", "One by Two" and "Safari". Babu has "Agadu", "Tapori" and "Shivam".
