Director Merlapaka Gandhi's Telugu movie "Express Raja", starring Sharwanand and Surabhi, has received mixed reviews from the audience across the globe.

"Express Raja" revolves around the story of a diamond worth Rs 75 crore, which is tagged to the neck of a dog, but goes missing. Raja (Sharwanand) is an unemployed youth, who wastes his time with his Tapori gang in Vizag. He sets out in search of a job in Hyderabad, where he is introduced to Surabhi. Another gang is now looking for Raja. Why the gang is running after him forms the crux of the story.

Viewers say "Express Raja" is a romantic comedy entertainer, but lacks a fresh story. The first half of the movie moves at a slow pace and a couple of songs and a few comedy scenes are good in this portion. The second half has interesting story and is high on entertainment quotient.

Viewers have added that Sharwanand has delivered a wonderful performance in "Express Raja" and his acting is the highlight of the movie. Surabhi has done justice to her role. The chemistry between the lead pair is another highlight of the film. The urban-youth-centric subject, peppy music, slick visuals and a few comedy scenes are the other attractions of the film. However, the slow-paced narration is a big drawback in the movie.
