EXO member Chen will appear in an upcoming Korean television show titled "In the Heights", which is scheduled to premiere in September.
It is a music programme that revolves around the lives and dreams of immigrants in Washington Heights, Manhattan.
During a press meet at Seoul's Namsan Creative Center, Chen thanked the creators and said, "It's an honour to be able to take on this role."
The celeb also said he received lot of support from his team members. "Appearing in the musical 'In the Heights' was actually a great challenge for me. Amongst EXO members, Baekhyun has experience being in a musical, so I received a lot of help from [him]. I also gained strength from the other members cheering me on," Soompi quoted him as saying.
Other celebrities to appear in the show include Sunggyu from K-Pop boy band Infinite, SHINee member Key, Luna of f(x), Yang Dong Geun, Seo Kyung Soo, Jung Won Young, Oh So Yeon, Kim Bo Kyung and J-Min.
