UPDATE: 17.35 p.m. IST: Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Monday, May 2, announced the launch of the Innova Crysta at a price starting at Rs. 13.83 lakh in Mumbai. The bookings have also begun from May 2. The Toyota Innova Crysta will be launched in India by mid-May, sources close to the development of the new avatar of Innova have confirmed to International Business Times India. The launch now will take place about a fortnight after the expected dates, which were rumoured to be in early May.

The new Innova Crysta, the second generation Innova, is likely to fall within the price brackets of Rs. 14 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings are already being done unofficially by some dealers, and the official announcement will be made on the day of the launch.

To be powered by a 2.4-litre and a 2.8-litre diesel engines, the MPV measures 4,735mm in length, 1,830mm in width, 1,795mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,750mm. While the 2,393cc diesel engine will develop 148bhp of power and 243Nm of torque, the 2,755cc mill will churn out 172bhp and 360Nm of torque. The engines come mated to either a five-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic gearbox.

The features list of the Innova Crysta includes automatic climate control with rear auto cooler, a 7-inch audio with navigation, cruise control and electrically-adjustable driver seat. On the safety front, the new Innova Crysta gets airbags and ABS with EBD as standard across all trims.

The Innova Crysta has started arriving at the dealership centres of the company and will be offered in five trims — 2.4 GX MT, 2.8 GX AT, 2.4 VX MT, 2.4 ZX MT, 2.8 ZX AT — across the three variants.
