After a traditional wedding ceremony, veteran actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini hosted a grand reception for their daughter Esha Deol and new son-in-law Bharat Takhtani at Mumbai's Intercontinental The Lalit in Andheri, on Saturday night.
The bride looked stunningly beautiful in a Rocky S creation that included a pink corset blouse with a mermaid cut lehenga embroidered with Swarovski crystals. Meanwhile, the groom looked every inch classy in a black tuxedo worn over a white shirt.
Although the bride's father Dharmendra hardly made any appearance at the sangeet and mehendi ceremonies, the yesteryear's actor perfectly played his role as a father during Esha's wedding and reception.
He along with wife Hema Malini arrived at the reception with groom's parents.
Dharmendra wore black suit over a white shirt while Hema was every inch a classic beauty in a cream embroidered work sari designed by Neeta Lulla. Esha's sister Ahana Deol looked pretty in pink lehenga-choli.
The reception was a star studded affair with more than 2000 people from the film industry, business and political world attending the event.
Amongst the political bigwigs, Maharashtra PWD Minister Chhagan Bhujbal was one of the first to arrive. Also present at the reception were BJP leaders LK Advani, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitly. Uddhav Thackeray, Amar Singh, Raj Thackeray, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Narayan Rane were also present at the occasion.
Veteran actors Dilip Kumar, Saira Banu, Jeetendra with wife and son Tusshar Kapoor, Sanjay Khan, new Rajya Sabha MP Rekha, Zeenat Aman, Vidya Balan, Sushmita Sen, Tanuja with her daughter Kajol and Tanisha were amongst those who attended the event. Other stars who were sighted at the reception were Madhuri Dixit with husband Dr. Nene, Tabu, Sridevi with Boney Kapoor, Mandira Bedi with husband, Preeti Desai, Anupam and Kirron Kher, Shilpa Shetty as well as Madhoo with her two daughters.
Bollywood actor Salman Khan was also there to wish Esha Deol and her husband. Meanwhile, Esha's half-brothers Sunny and Bobby Deol gave a miss to their sister's grand reception
