"Bajirao Mastani" is rocking at the box office, but its distributor is languishing at the bourses.

Eros International Media, the global distributor of Ranveer-Deepika-Priyanka Chopra-starrer "Bajirao Mastani", has done more than analysts would have expected, as far the movie's box office collections are concerned.

The movie, released on 18 December, 2015, collected Rs 301 crore at the box office worldwide by the end of the third week, according to the company's regulatory filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on 4 January, 2016.

This includes Rs 211 crore in India and Rs 90 crore ($13.5 milliion) overseas.

The movie, which Eros claims is the third-highest grosser of 2015, is still running to packed houses at cinema halls.

But the stupendous box office success of this Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial is not translating into gains for the company's investors in the stock exchanges.

The stock has slid since 18 December, when it closed at Rs 260, to Rs 239 on 4 January, though it recovered partially on Tuesday to close at Rs 244.60 on the BSE.

Other blockbusters distributed by the company included "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and "Tanu Weds Manu Returns".

"Bajirao Mastani" was expected to face a tough challenge from Shah Rukh Khan's "Dilwale", which released on the same day. The movie, starring Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, has been directed by Rohit Shetty. Its distributor is Shah Rukh Khan-owned Red Chillies Entertainment.

The movie has earned Rs 291.38 crore at the box office worldwide, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
