The crazy season is in full swing, as players who are never going to move to a rival club keep getting linked with doing just that. After the never-gonna-happen reports of Neymar's possible transfer to Real Madrid, it is the turn of Manchester United and Chelsea to become involved in a deal that is as unlikely as Chelsea winning the English Premier League title this season.

The man of the Manchester United-want-to-sign-him-from-Chelsea moment is Eden Hazard, with the Red Devils reportedly looking at a deal to bring the Belgian to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with summer moves for Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo, however, according to a club source, the club believe signing either of the two Real Madrid superstars will be extremely difficult. As a result, they are looking at the possibility of agreeing a deal with Hazard.

"The club have to be realistic and realise that signing Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo remains a long shot, which means alternative targets come into the equation," the source told the Daily Star.

"Eden Hazard is certainly one of those and the type of player United need if they want to start winning trophies again."

A report in the Daily Mail said Hazard has already made his mind up to leave Chelsea in the summer, with Real Madrid and PSG the leading candidates for the Belgian's signature.

While Hazard leaving Chelsea cannot be entirely ruled out, the chances of the playmaker landing in Manchester looks highly unlikely, and that is being optimistic. While Juan Mata made a move from Chelsea to Manchester United recently, the circumstances were completely different, with Jose Mourinho, the Blues manager at the time, happy to sell the Spaniard.

Hazard, even with all the criticism from fans and pundits, is seen as the marquee player at Chelsea, and someone capable of turning the game on its head with a moment of brilliance, something he did quite often when Chelsea stormed to the title last season.

Chelsea will be extremely reluctant to let Hazard go in the first place, and if they are forced into a sale by the player, the Blues will make sure the Belgium international does not land up with another team in the Premier League, even if Manchester United will have no problems matching the bids made for the player by teams outside England.
