Typhoon Mujigae, the 22nd typhoon of the year, has wreaked havoc on south China, killing at least four people in Guangdong Province. The typhoon, bringing gales and downpours, made landfall in the coastal city of Zhanjiang in Guangdong Province at 2.00pm on 4 October, packing winds of up to 111mph.

Mexicos Colima volcano erupted just after sunrise on 23 September morning, spewing ash and smoke into the air, authorities reported. The first explosion was recorded at 7.58am with the second at 8.18am.
