Rajinikanth, whose movies are known for shattering box office records, has created records of sorts with his latest movie 2.0 aka Enthiran 2. Well, the satellite rights of the Tamil superstar have been sold for a never-before price.

Enthiran 2 aka 2.0 satellite rights: Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar's film to beat SS Rajamouli's Bahubali 2 (Baahubali) record

Reports say that Zee TV has acquired the satellite rights of all versions -- Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages. The deal was reportedly signed after much negotiation. In the end, the channel has paid a whopping Rs 110 crore for the TV rights.

However, neither the makers nor the channel has made a formal announcement on the deal. If this turns out to be true, then Rajinikanth's 2.0 gets the credit as the highest-paid Indian film for satellite rights.

Enthiran 2 is set to beat the record of SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2, which is estimated to have made about Rs 100 crore from the sale of satellite rights.

The satellite rights of Baahubali 2 for Hindi (Rs 51 crore) and Telugu (Rs 26 crore) were sold for fancy amounts. The Tamil and Malayalam versions are estimated to have made over Rs 20 crore.

2.0 is being made with a massive budget of Rs 400 crore and Lyca Productions has bankrolled the project. The movie is the biggest film made in India in terms of budget and has to set the box office on fire to reap profits to the makers.

The movie has Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles. Amy Jackson is the female lead in Shankar-directorial flick. It will be simultaneously released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam languages. It is likely to be dubbed in international languages as every new market helps the makers to recover the money invested in the film.

The film is said to be the sequel to Shankar's 2010 blockbuster Enthiran - The Robot.
