Malayalam movie buffs are now familiar with the real life love story of BP Moideen and Kanchanamala of Mukkam, Kozhikode through RS Vimal's blockbuster hit film "Ennu Ninte Moideen".

While many sympathise with the couple, popular Malayalam actor Dileep believes that there is no point in just sympathising and has come forward to help the real life heroine to construct a memorial for her late love interest.

Kanchana, who lives as "a widow of a bachelor", had always wished to have a building for BP Moideen Seva Mandir, an organisation to support the weaker sections of the society. After the death of Moideen, who was drowned in Iruvazhinjipuzha, Kanchana dedicated her life for the organisation working as a social activist.

Dileep, who is deeply touched with the love she still has for Moideen, reportedly contacted her on Sunday, 18 October offering support. He also met Kanchanamala at Mukkam on Monday. Dileep also promised that B P Moideen Seva Mandir's stone will be laid on 15 November.

After Dileep's plans to help Kanchanamala hit the headlines, social media users have been applauding the "Life of Josutty" actor for his decision.

"Ennu Ninte Moideen" starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Parvathy, is doing roaring business in India and abroad; it has collected approximately Rs 27.2 crore in 30 days of its theatrical run. The film has become the first solo blockbuster of the actor in an acting career spanning 13 years.
