Bollywood's Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is all set to work with Tamil icon Rajinikanth once again, and the credit for bringing them together goes to Shankar, who is casting them in his mega-budget movie "Endhiran 2" (Enthiran).

The buzz says that Shankar approached Amitabh Bachchan and the Bollywood actor was happy to receive the offer to act with Rajinikanth. While it is being said that Big B will be seen in wonderful character, other details are under wraps.

Shankar's earlier movie "Endhiran" did not perform to its potential in Bollywood. The movie lacked PAN India appeal and keeping in mind that the cast makes a big difference in the movie, the ace filmmaker decided to rope in Amitabh Bachchan, say rumours.

The latest reports have not come as a surprise, as rumours of Shankar attempting to cast a big Bollywood star have been doing the rounds for quite some time now. Earlier, it was said that Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan were approached for the same.

Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth have been good friends for ages now. They have worked in a few movies including "Andha Kanoon". The last time that they joined hands was in "Geraftaar" in 1985.

Meanwhile, Shankar is busy with the pre-production work of "Endhiran 2". The casting process is yet to be completed and technical preparations are going on in full swing. Amy Jackson, who worked with him in his previous film "I", will be playing the female lead role in the flick.

The first instalment featured Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the female lead role. "Endhiran" was bankrolled by Sun Pictures and the flick became the biggest commercial hit of Kollywood history.

"Endhiran 2" will take off on 12 December to coincide with Rajinikanth's birthday. The regular shooting begins early next year.
