Jamshedpur, Jan 19 (ANI): An encounter between security personnel and Maoists in Jharkhand killed a rebel and injured one policeman. Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of India's paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and police arrived in Jamshedpur district to track Maoists in the area. The injured police officer has been admitted to a hospital. The police also arrested two Maoists and recovered weapons. The rebels have operated for decades across a wide swath of central and eastern India, and grew in strength during recent times.
