The 68th annual Primetime Emmy Award nominations were announced on Thursday morning in Los Angeles and "Game of Thrones" once again rules with 23 nominations, which is said to be the highest for any television show. HBO, the television network on which "Game of Thrones" airs, has received a total of 94 nominations.

The 2016 Emmy Awards ceremony will take place on Sept. 18 at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles. The event will be hosted by talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and will be broadcast live on ABC.
