Emraan Hashmi starrer "Ek Thi Daayan" had a decent opening at cinema halls across India. But on the second day, its collections had dropped.

The supernatural thriller, which is about a "Daayan" (witch) and a magician Bobo (played by Emraan) has raked in approximately ₹5 crore on the second day of its release.

The film minted ₹6.24 crore on Friday and was expected to pick up on Saturday due to good reviews. But unexpectedly, the collections declined.

The two day domestic total of the film stands at approximately ₹11.24 crore.

At some places where Friday was a holiday for Ram Navmi, the first day's collection was decent. The film was expected to break Emraan's last horror film "Raaz 3" opening weekend record and earn more than ₹35 crore.

Despite the drop in the film's earnings, Emraan is happy about the response the film is getting. The actor took to twitter and thanked people for the feedback.

"Thank you all for the awesome feedback of "ek thi daayan"..i assure you.. ull never look at a woman in a braid in the same way ever again," Emraan tweeted.

The film was made with a budget of ₹24 crores, including spendings on printing and advertising. The makers of the film have already recovered 70 - 80 percent of production cost from non-theatrical sources and approximately ₹11 crore from its two day theatrical run.

The film's revenue will bring in additional profit for the makers. It is expected to fetch some good earnings at the box office on Sunday.

Kannan Iyer's directorial film features Emraan Hashmi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Huma Qureshi and Kalki Koechlin in lead roles. The film is produced by Ekta Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj.
