Television actor Sarrtaj Gill, who rose to popularity as Priyom Thakur on &TV's "Begusarai" has reportedly been approached to play the lead role of Raja on Zee TV's period love-drama "Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani."

According to a report on Tellychakkar.com, "Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani" is all set to take a second leap in mid-June, after which the story will essentially revolve around grown-up Raja and Rani. Meanwhile, the show is currently revolving around Gayatri (Drashti Dhami) and Ranaji's (Siddhant Karnick) daughter Rani, played by child artiste Mahima Joshi, and Raja, played by Sagar Hingonia.

Earlier, there were reports that Drashti is likely to return to the show as grown-up child of Gayatri and Ranaji. However, no confirmation has been made regarding this.

"The plot will be the same of show taking a leap and introducing the child of Gayatri and Ranaji. Though Siddhant will definitely not be seen post the leap, there are high chances of Drashti Dhami playing the grown up child of Gayatri and Ranaji. Their child will be lookalike of Gayatri who will then teach a big lesson to Badi Rani Maa," a source had told India Forums.

In other news, Siddhant and "Dream Girl" actress Megha Gupta, surprised their fans when news of them dating leaked out recently. While the fans of the "Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani" actor were still recovering from the sudden news, Siddhant got engaged to Megha on May 11 in a private affair. The couple is apparently planning to get married in December 2016 or early next year.
