Sunny Leone's "Ek Paheli Leela", which releases on Friday, tells the story of reincarnation. The adult star-turned-actress plays the lead character in the film, while Mohit Ahlawat, Rajniesh Duggal, Jay Bhanushali and Rahul Dev play the male lead.

"Ek Paheli Leela" is a musical thriller directed by Bobby Khan and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Ahmed Khan and Shaira Khan.

The film has been in news since it went on floors and one obvious reason is the lead actress. However, the film also managed to be in the limelight due to its larger than life sets and due to the remake of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Salman Khan's "Dholi Taro" song.

For acting, Sunny Leone might not have scored full marks, but for recreating the song she has garnered positive reviews.

Prarthna Sarkar of IBTimes India said: "Sunny struggles with her accent and body language while portraying Meera, but she pulls off the film with her sultriness."

Subash K Jha in his review said: "Though the luscious Ms Leone dazzles in her double avatar the question is, can she act? Well, dear friends, while the jury is still out on that one, let's just say this. Could Zeenat Aman act ? Like the sex bomb of the yesteryears Sunny Leone fills up the screen with her voluptuous presence.

"It may not be revolutionary in concept or path-breaking in execution. But make no mistake. Ek Paheli Leela is the surprise of the year."

Akshay Kaushal of IBNLive said: "#SunnyLeone needs to brush up her acting skills. It's not always the beauty that we can go gaga over. #EkPaheliLeela. #SunnyLeone is too hot to handle on screen. #EkPaheliLeela.

"The theatre is jam-packed. #SunnyLeone certainly has a huge fan base. #EkPaheliLeela."

Srishti Dixit of BollywoodLife.com said: "I am honestly enjoying this film so far, and I'm really shocked by that! None of the performances are outstanding but as an ensemble cast Sunny Leone, Jay Bhanushali, Rajneesh Duggal and Mukul Dev have done a decent job so far."
