Even as Muslim devotees across the gulf region celebrated Eid al-Fitr on Friday, 17 July, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh are observing the festival on Saturday, 18 July.
The annual festival, which is observed after strict fasting (from dawn to dusk) and praying for 30 days, is celebrated to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
