Eid Mubarak!
The sacred Muslim festival of sacrifice Eid al-Adha is here and devotees in Saudi Arabia are celebrating the auspicious day on Sept. 12. People in many other parts of the globe will observe the day on Sept. 13.
As part of Eid al-Adha, devotees sacrifice lambs, goats, rams or other animals, as a symbolic representation of Abraham's (Ibrahim) willingness to sacrifice his only son Ishmael on the command of God.
Many Mollywood celebrities, including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Dulquer Salmaan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Nivin Pauly, Indrajith Sukumaran, KS Chithra, Aju Varghese, Tovino Thomas, Neeraj Madhav, Anoop Menon, Krishna Prabha, Saranya Mohan, Anu Sithara, Roopesh Peethambaran and Nyla Usha, among others have wished their fans on the festival through their social media pages.
The week has turned out to be special for Keralites, as people in the state are also celebrating the Onam festival on Wednesday, Sept. 14.
