At least 19 people were killed after a massive fire broke out in a furniture factory in Qaliyubia, northeast of Cairo on Tuesday. Reports said that more than 22 people were injured in the incident.

The injured have been admitted to five different hospitals, state news agency MENA reported. It took 20 fire trucks to bring the fire under control on Tuesday afternoon.

Associated Press noted that the furniture factory building did not have a fire safety certificate. There is no clarity as to how the fire started.
