Here is the most awaited release of this festive season. The team of "Njan" have announced its release on 19 September. The film starring Dulquer Salmaan is scripted and directed by Ranjith. Jyothi Krishna, Anu mol and Shruthi Ramachandran plays the lead heroines of the film.
"Njan" is based on a historical fiction "KTN Kottur: Ezhuthum Jeevithavum," by TP Rajeevan. Ranjith have earlier made "Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathira Kolapathakathinte Kadha" was also based on Rajeevan's novel and Mammootty played the lead role in it.
The story is set in two eras: pre-Independence and the current world we live in. The plot of pre-Independence era is set in a small village Kottur in Malabar region when it was under Madras Presidency. Dulquer will be seen as a journalist and Jyothi Krishna plays as his wife in the movie. Dulquer has described his role in the film has the most challenging.
The team had earlier released the trailer of the film. The trailer shows Dulquer as a journalist who is in search of finding himself. The trailer tells that Dulquer is set to find the story of a man who have fought hard but failed to win the game of life. The film will also take audience to rich traditional and political culture of northern Kerala.
Dulquer is currently at his career's best. After the success of his recent ventures, "Bangalore Days" and "Vikramadithyan", the upcoming Ranjith film is also one of the much-awaited films. The characterisation and the look of Dulquer are also new for audience.
"Njan" also has a rich star cast including Suresh Krishna, Saadhiq, Irshad, Harish Perady, Jayan Cherthala, Kuttikal Jayachandran, Saiju Kurup, Bineesh Kodiyeri, Sasi Erinjikkal, Muthumani Somasundararam and Chinju.
The music for the film is composed by Bijipal and lyrics are written by Rafeeq Ahmed.
The cinematography is done by Manoj Pillai, who associated with Ranjith in films like "Kaiyoppu", "Kerala Café" and "Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathira Kolapathakathinte Kadha". The film was edited by Sandeep Nandakumar and the art direction is handled by Santhosh Raman.
