The official trailer of Anoop Menon and Meera Jasmine's 10 Kalpanakal was released online by actor Dulquer Salmaan on Saturday, November 5. The trailer of the crime thriller was recently launched during a star-studded function at Lulu Madinat Party Hall in Dubai.
"Extremely happy and proud to know that my buddy Don Max, the editor, is turning director with "Pathu Kalpanakal" ! Here is the trailer for this smart and edgy thriller ! My best wishes to the entire team for release this month [sic]" Dulquer wished the team of 10 Kalpanakal while sharing the one-minute-56-second trailer on his social media page.
In the debut directorial venture of editor-turned-filmmaker Don Max, Meera plays the role of a police officer for the first time in her acting career, and looks different in a never-seen-before avatar. It is expected to be the comeback movie of the actress, who has been away from the limelight for quite few years. The film also stars Kaniha, Joju George, Prasant Narayanan, Kavitha Nair and Ritika Badiani in pivotal roles.
10 Kalpanakal was recently in the news after death hoax of veteran singer S Janaki started making the rounds on social media. The playback singer, who is known as the Nightingale of the South, became the victim of rumours after she announced her decision to retire from singing. The news was misquoted by many, which led in creating confusion about the health condition of the National Award winning singer.
Janaki, who is fondly called Janakiyamma, quit singing with a lullaby Ammapoovinum for 10 Kalpanakal. Composed by Mithun Eshwar, the melody, which the singer calls a beautiful song dedicated to all mothers, was recently released online and has opened to positive response from the audience.

Another song titled Vethala Chirakil was released in September. The over three-minute remix song sung by Meera Jasmine, MC Rude and Midhun Eshwar was also well received by the audience. 10 Kalpanakal is co-produced by Manu Padmanabhan Nair, Jiji Anchani, Jacob Koeypuram and Biju Thoranathel under the banner Shutterbugs Entertainments.
