South Korean consumer electronics giant, LG on the Thursday unveiled the dual-core powered 5.5-inch smartphone, G Pro Lite in Seoul.
"With LG G Pro Lite, we are introducing a competitive device to the masses in the growing large smartphone market," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
"The market for smartphones with displays over five inches will continue to grow and LG is in a great position to capture these new customers when they're ready to move up from their current phones," he added.
LG G Pro Lite sports 5.5-inch qHD display with 960x540p resolution and runs on the Android v4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box. It packs 1GHz MediaTek dual-core processor (MT6577), 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory (comes with microSD slot), 8.0-megapixel main camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.
The company has confirmed that the new phablet would be made available in Latin America this month and will be soon released in Middle East and Asia including India, China and Russia. However, the price tag of handset is still under wraps.
LG G Pro Lite is said to be the mid-range version of the company's flagship phablet LG Optimus G Pro, which was launched in February this year. It featured 5.5-inch full HD display and housed 1.7GHz Qualcomm 600 series CPU, 2GB RAM, 13.0 megapixel camera on the rear side and 2.1 megapixel snapper on the front side. The phone is available in the India since July and is currently priced at ₹32,999 on Flipkart.
