Old-school anime fans have eventually been treated to Dragon Ball Xenoverse, the game that's been made in the image of one of the best cartoon TV shows of all times. The Dragon Ball Z anime was special, but the recently-released Dragon Ball Xenoverse seems better.

While Dragon Ball Xenoverse is already counted among the likes of PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, there's still a lot to learn about the game and its gameplay features that may seem a tad tricky on the first go.

Hence, here we take a look at the best superpowers in the game that players should look to employ when battling opponents. The list includes all the special moves and Ultimate Attacks that are in the game.

Super Saiyan: One of the most intriguing superpowers in Dragon Ball Xenoverse is the one where you get transformed into a Super Saiyan, although you should note that it's probably one of the last ditch efforts that you could pull off to edge out a win. On using the transformation, your Ki Gauge will slowly drain, while you will have unlimited use of special attacks (while your Ki lasts). But once your Ki runs out, you will be left nearly defenceless. You can make full use of the Super Saiyan transformation mode in case you have to launch a direct attack on your opponent, dealing as much damage as possible in the process.

Spread Shot Retreat (Ultimate Attack): Spread Shot Retreat is one of varied defensive techniques in Dragon Ball Xenoverse that you can employ against your enemies. This is a great option for all those who are looking to play the game, employing their own gameplay techniques. Needless to say, you can customise your character to play in a host of ways, and the Spread Shot Retreat will help all those with a defensive mindset. Note that the amount of meter used when you are unleashing a Spread Shot Retreat will vary depending on whether you're blocking or getting hit. This technique moves you farther away from your enemies and help launch a barrage of energy blasts towards the opponent.

Solar Flare: As of now, among all other special attacks available for the game, Solar Flare has been considered as one of the most potent compared to the rest. Solar Flare is particularly handy, provided you are facing off against a more experienced and skilled adversary. Usually, you can lock down adversaries with certain combo techniques, but it isn't that easy pulling off the same against a skilled fighter. However, Solar Flare stuns enemies temporarily, offering you the option to perform a follow-up hit on your enemy any way you prefer. Use Solar Flare as early as possible to stop the opponent from escaping out of your combo.

Kioken: Kioken is somewhat similar to the aforementioned Super Saiyan transformation, but not without its own set of special differences. Note that any of the five races in the game can employ the Kioken transformation technique, while only Saiyans have the option to transform into Super Saiyans in the game. Apart from that, pulling off a Kioken transformation also affects your Guard Gauge, but not your Ki meter. Kioken, again, is best suited for those who are looking to employ a more defensive approach in the game. However, after the transformation wears off, you will still need to defend yourself from the attacks of your opponents.
