Bollywood Hungama in its review said: "On the whole, DOLLY KI DOLI is a stress buster that will make you smile as you'll leave the theatre. Debutante director Abhishek Dogra has competently extracted superb performances from the entire starcast. The unpredictable climax of the film works to the advantage too."

Lokesh Dharmani of Masala.com said: "Dolly Ki Doli could have been spunkier, funkier and all things better. Watch it only for Rajkummar Rao, Varun Sharma and Archana Puran Singh."

Shilpa Jamkhandikar of Reuters said: "The best thing about Abhishek Dogra's new film "Dolly ki Doli" is that it is all of 100 minutes long. Whatever flaws the script might have, whatever acting that goes haywire, goes by in such a flash that you don't have time to dwell on it."

Sweta Kaushal of Hindustan Times said: "So should you watch Dolly Ki Doli? Go for it, for the entertaining performances. Despite the shoddy script and loose strings, this is worth a watch."

Deepanjana Pal of Firstpost said: "Had Dolly ki Doli cast Rao as Robin and paid attention to Ayub's character instead of abandoning Raju's story along the way, Dogra's film could have been great fun."
