For fans of actor Mohanlal, Sunday, May 21, was a day filled with celebrations. It all started with the special early morning shows of the superstar's evergreen movies like Spadikam and Narasimham across Kerala. A few filmmakers also made use of this opportunity to release the poster, title or teaser of their upcoming Malayalam films, and interestingly, all the projects have some sort of connection with Mohanlal.

Lal Jose - Mohanlal movie gets a title

A few days ago, hit filmmaker Lal Jose had announced his maiden association with Mohanlal in 19 years. On the occasion of the 57th birthday of the superstar, the director revealed that the upcoming movie has been titled Velipadinte Pusthakam. Scripted by Benny P Nayarambalam, the Mohanlal-starrer is being bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirwad Cinemas. Cinematographer Vishnu Sharma, editor Ranjan Abraham, music composer Shaan Rahman and costume designer Sameera Saneesh are the other crew members of Lal Jose's movie.

Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran's Mohanlal movie first look poster out

Recently, reports had it that superstar Manju Warrier will be seen as a Mohanlal fan in her next, helmed by actor-director Sajid Yahiya. Now, as a birthday gift to the versatile actor and his fans, the makers of the film named Mohanlal have released its first-look poster featuring Manju and Indrajith Sukumaran. The poster also shows a few iconic characters and dialogues of the National Award-winning actor.

Oru Cinemaakkaran teaser released

The teaser of Vineeth Sreenivasan next, Oru Cinemaakkaran, was released on social media on Sunday, and the young actor is seen as a fan of Malayalam movies. Viewers can hear the hit dialogues of Induchoodan (Mohanlal), Thevalliparambil Joseph Alex IAS (Mammootty), Jayan's 'we are not beggars' and Suresh Gopi's 'just remember that' in the background of the video, which received positive response from netizens. Helmed by Leo Thaddeus and produced by Thomas Panicker, Oru Cinemaakkaran stars Rajisha Vijayan as the female lead.

Godha team releases a special Mohanlal scene from the movie

Director Basil Joseph's second movie, Godha, based on wrestling, has opened to a stupendous response from the audience. Now, on the birthday of Mohanlal, the team of Godha has released the video of a scene from the movie that mentions Lalettan featuring Tovino Thomas and Aju Varghese, among others. Godha marks the acting debut of Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi, who has impressed viewers for her natural performance as a wrestler in the movie, which also stars Renji Panicker.

Mohanlal also received special birthday cakes from his friend Vijay S Menon, and the actor shared its photo on his Facebook page.

Meanwhile, apart from many other celebrities, Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag also wished the "King of Mollywood" on his special day by sharing the poster of the upcoming movie Villain via his Twitter handle. "Heartiest birthday wishes to the king of Mollywood #HappyBirthdayMohanlal [sic]," reads the wish of Sehwag, and the actor was quick to reply him: "@virendersehwag Thank you for the wishes :)."
