Television actor Anas Rashid, who plays the lead role of Sooraj on "Diya Aur Baati Hum," is gearing up to get married soon. Recently, there were rumours that the actor got engaged when he went to his hometown Malerkotla, Punjab, to celebrate Eid.
While Anas has refuted the rumour of getting engaged, he did reveal his plans of getting married once his show "Diya Aur Baati Hum" goes off air.
"Every time I go to my hometown, this rumour starts. Yes it's true that my parents are keen on finding a girl for me and dinner table conversations are only about my marriage these days," Anas told the Times of India. "I am not really sure when my show is going off air, but I will tie the knot soon after it gets over," he added.
Earlier, Anas was rumoured to be in a long-term relationship with Rati Pandey of "Hitler Didi" fame, but the couple parted ways early this year. In fact, there were also reports of them tying the knot and making their relationship official. But Anas and Rati always maintained that they were just friends.
The actor had also said during several interviews that he would never date and would marry a girl of his parents' choice, as his family is traditional.
Meanwhile, "Diya Aur Baati Hum," which was supposed to go off air in August, has got an extension and will now go off air in September. Apparently, the show's dropping Television Rating Points (TRPs) and the tantrums thrown by the lead actors Anas and Deepika Singh (Sandhya) on the sets have forced the makers to pull the plug.
