Budget carrier SpiceJet on Tuesday announced the launch of a discount offer named 'Diwali Sale Dhamaka', under which the airline is offering over 3 lakh tickets with fares starting at Rs 749 (excluding taxes) for domestic travel and Rs 3,999 for international travel.

The three-day ticket booking period for the offer started on 27 October, 2015 and the travel period allowed under the scheme is between 1 February and 29 October, 2016.

Under this offer, customers can book tickets for routes like Delhi to Amritsar, Ahmedabad to Mumbai for as low as Rs 749.

Besides, booking tickets through its mobile app will get additional 3% discount for both domestic and international travel, the airline said.

"The attractive pricing clubbed with our robust network is expected to garner immense traction from customers across geographies and with advance purchase being a huge incentive to travellers, the year-long travel period under the current offering will provide SpiceJet customers with immense flexibility while enabling them to plan their travel well in advance," Business Standard quoted SpiceJet spokesperson as saying.

To avail of the offer, customers can also book tickets on the airline's website, travel portals and travel agents.

Earlier this month, SpiceJet had said that it would expand its fleet by inducting six new aircraft to meet the demand in winter season. It also said that it would increase daily flight operations to 291 from the current 250.

The low-cost carrier reported the highest passenger load factor (PLF) in the domestic aviation market for the month of September. The airline occupied a market share of 12.3% in September.
