Popular television couple Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya finally tied the knot in a traditional ceremony on Friday, July 8 in Bhopal. Several pictures from the wedding have surfaced online and Divyanka looked gorgeous in a red lehenga, while Vivek chose a white and red combination sherwani for the special day.
A Bollywood Life report said that the groom made a grand entry in a vintage car at the wedding venue along with the baraat and even danced to the beats of the dhol. Soon after the jaimala ceremony, the newlyweds made an appearance for the media waiting outside the venue.
During the sangeet ceremony, held on July 7, Divyanka told the media that although she and Vivek wanted the wedding to be a private affair, they decided to interact with the media as they can't disappoint their fans who wanted to virtually witness the ceremonies. "So many media people are here. This proves that our fans want to see our wedding ceremonies and we can't disappoint them," Divyanka said, India Today reported.
The wedding will be followed by a reception on July 10 at Vivek's hometown in Chandigarh. The couple is also planning to host a reception for their industry friends in Mumbai.
The pre-wedding ceremonies were colourful and lavish. In the mehendi ceremony, Divyanka looked pretty in a pink lehenga with minimal make-up and jewellery. Interestingly, she chose to sketch Vivek and her face on her hands, instead of the groom's name. In the sangeet ceremony, Divyanka opted for a royal blue and golden traditional dress, while Vivek chose to wear a red outfit. The couple also gave a stunning dance performance.
